You’ll never know which small kindness someone needed most. That’s why you keep handing them out.

REFLECTION
Feedback on kindness is almost nonexistent. People rarely report that a particular sentence held their afternoon together, so you work without data, and the temptation is to ration the effort until you can tell it is needed. That is the wrong response to missing information. When you cannot tell which one lands, the only sensible policy is volume.
Lower the bar until it is easy: the text you nearly did not send, holding a door, saying the specific thing instead of the general one. Do several a day and expect no scoreboard. Some of them are landing.
Which small kindness did somebody give you without knowing?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
