You don’t build a legacy someday. It’s the sum of what you did on a bunch of normal Thursdays.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
What people remember about you is assembled out of unremarkable days, almost none of which announced themselves. There is no stage where the important version of your life begins. The accumulation is happening now, in how you treat a teammate at a routine practice and whether you do the boring part properly. Nothing in that process waits for you to be ready.
Look at an ordinary day this week and pick the one moment in it that will still be true about you in ten years. Usually it is small and involves another person. Then do that part on purpose.
What did you do last Thursday that will still count?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
