Distance doesn’t erase what hurt. It just lets you see the whole shape of it.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Time does not delete an injury; it changes your position relative to it. Up close you can only see the part pressing on you. From further back the rest becomes visible: what led to it, who else was involved, which parts were never about you at all.
If something still stings, you do not have to be over it on any schedule. When you are ready, try describing the whole episode to somebody you trust, start to finish. Saying it out loud is often what lets you see the shape.
What do you understand about an old hurt now?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
