Big city or small town, you’ll need the same few things: people who know you and a reason to get up.

The list of what people actually need turns out to be short, and it has no postcode on it. Two items carry most of the weight: being properly known by somebody, and having something that pulls you out of bed. Everything else is detail. Moving changes the weather, the rent and the accent, and it leaves the requirements exactly where they were.
Check both items honestly for where you are now. If the people side is thin, start there before planning any move, since arriving somewhere new without either is the hardest version of this.
