Look at an old team photo in ten years. You’ll care less about the record and more about where everyone ended up.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
A record gets you through a season and then stops being interesting, even to the people who set it. What holds up in an old photo is the people: who you sat beside, who you argued with, where everybody ended up afterwards. You will find yourself scanning faces rather than trying to remember results.
Learn one thing about a teammate this season that has nothing to do with the sport. Then save a group photo somewhere you will still be able to find it in ten years.
Where do you hope your old teammates ended up?
