A fish tank teaches you that care is mostly routine. Feed, check, clean, repeat. Love works a lot like that.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Keeping anything alive is unglamorous. Feed it, check the temperature, clean the filter, then do it again tomorrow whether or not you feel attentive that day. None of it is a grand gesture, and grand gestures are not what keeps the water clear. Caring about people runs on the same mechanism: small maintenance, repeated, mostly at inconvenient times.
Pick one person and set yourself a dull schedule for them. A message every Sunday, a lift every Thursday, the same follow-up question about the thing worrying them. Keep it on the days you do not feel like it.
How do you show care when nothing feels special?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
