Someone stocked the shelf, drove the truck, and fixed the power line so your boring day could be boring.

An uneventful day is an achievement propped up by a large number of people you will never meet. Shelves got filled overnight, a truck ran, somebody climbed a pole in bad weather, clean water arrived. Boring is expensive and actively maintained. It feels like the natural state of things only because the maintenance is designed to stay invisible.

Pick one piece of that machinery and look at it properly this week. Who cleans your school, who drives your bus, who was already working at six this morning. Thank one of them by name.
