Rest isn’t the opposite of purpose. It’s what keeps purpose from burning out.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Rest gets framed as the enemy of effort, as though every hour not spent working is an hour of drift. Look at anybody who has sustained something for years and you find rest built into the structure rather than smuggled in after a collapse. The reason is mechanical, not moral: output that never pauses degrades, and so does the person producing it. Stopping on purpose is part of how work continues.
Schedule one stretch of nothing this week, before you need it. Phone away, nothing to catch up on, no guilt tax attached.
What matters enough to you that it needs protecting?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
