Two people can live the same week. One calls it a disaster, the other calls it a lesson. Both are right.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

The events of a week do not come with their interpretation attached. Two people can be handed the same facts and produce a disaster and an education, and neither one is lying, because the story gets added afterwards by whoever is telling it. That is not a reason to pretend hard things are fine. It is a reason to notice that you are the one writing the summary, and that you have some say in it.

Write a paragraph about your week as a catastrophe, then one as a lesson. Read both and pick which you want to carry.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Could you retell last week’s disaster as a lesson?
