Wise people ask more questions as they get older. Watch out for people who stop.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Curiosity tends to grow with understanding, because the more you know about a subject the clearer its edges become. Somebody who has stopped asking has usually stopped at a conclusion and started defending it, which looks like confidence and works like a closed door. The direction of travel is the tell: questions increasing, or questions drying up.

Check your own direction this month. Count whether you asked anything genuine of the people you disagree with. Watch the adults you learn from for the same signal, because it shows who is still worth listening to.
