Clocking in on time is a small promise. Keep it and people trust you with bigger ones.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Punctuality is a very small promise, and the first one anybody can watch you keep. Nobody can see your potential or your character on day one, but they can see whether you were there at nine, and that gets used as a stand-in for everything else. Bigger trust gets extended on the strength of that evidence.
Be five minutes early for a month and watch what starts coming your way. Keys, shifts, responsibility, a reference. It is an absurdly cheap way to become the person people rely on.
What small thing do you do reliably enough to be trusted?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
