Kindness that only shows up when people are watching is just marketing.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Kindness performed for an audience is a different product from the real thing, even when the actions look identical. One is aimed at the person in front of you and the other at how it reads, which is why it vanishes the moment nobody is there to see. The private version is the only reliable sample of what somebody is like.
Do one good thing this week that cannot be posted or mentioned. Help somebody who can neither repay it nor report it. Then let it stay unrecorded and notice how different it feels.
Would your kindness look the same with no audience?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
