Complimenting someone else doesn’t take anything from you. Confident people do it easily.

Praise is not a limited resource being divided up. Saying somebody played well, wrote something good or looks sharp costs you nothing and takes nothing from your own standing, whatever envy claims. Watch who gives compliments easily and you will notice it tends to be the people who are secure, because they are not protecting a share of anything.

Give three specific compliments this week, out loud, to people not expecting one. Specific beats generous. Then notice that none of your own ground went anywhere.
