“Mature for your age” sometimes means you had to grow up early. You’re still allowed to be a kid about some things.

Being praised as mature can mean you are thoughtful, and sometimes it means something harder: that circumstances required you to handle adult things early, and the compliment arrived in place of help. Growing up fast is a real skill, and it tends to come with a bill, usually in the form of play and silliness you never got round to.
If that is your situation, take some of it back where you can. Something pointless, with nobody depending on the outcome. Being capable does not cancel being young.
