Having taste means knowing what you like and being able to say why.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Taste is not a list of approved things. It is the ability to point at something and explain what is working, which is a skill rather than a status. Anyone can say a song is good. Saying it is the drums coming in late that does it, or the colour in the corner of the photo, means you were actually paying attention.
Try putting a reason behind three things you like this week, even clumsily. Say it to a friend or write it in a note. Your reasons will get sharper fast, and the habit transfers to everything you make.
Can you explain why you love your favourite song?
