Your worth isn’t an election. It doesn’t need a majority.

Worth does not work by vote count. You can be disliked by a room and unchanged in value, the same way a correct answer does not become wrong when nobody puts a hand up for it. Treating approval as the tally keeps you campaigning forever, adjusting positions for whoever is currently in the room. Nobody wins that election, because the electorate changes every period.

Notice one decision this week you are making to win votes rather than because it is right. Make the other choice and see what actually happens. Most of the feared consequences never arrive, and the ones that do are survivable.
