Being a beginner at one thing keeps you humble about everything else.

Competence makes you forget what not knowing feels like, which is how impatient people are made. Keeping one activity where you are visibly bad resets that memory every week. You remember how long the basics take, how stupid the obvious question feels, how much a small kindness from someone further along is worth. Then you hand that kindness to the new person in the thing you are good at.
Take up something you have no talent for and stay a beginner in it on purpose. An instrument, a language, a sport nobody you know plays. One hour a week keeps the memory fresh.
