Order is not perfection; it is knowing where things belong.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Order is often abandoned because it is imagined as immaculate, which is exhausting and unnecessary. The functional version is much lower: things have homes, you know where those homes are, and you can find what you need. A space that meets that standard can look lived in and still work perfectly. Aiming at perfection is what makes people give up entirely.
Define the minimum version of order that would make your life easier, and hold that rather than an ideal. Give the frequently used things a designated place. That single change does most of the work.
