Everyone is creative at something. Some people’s medium is a spreadsheet.

Creativity gets filed under art, which leaves a lot of people believing they do not have any. The actual thing is making something that was not there before, and the material can be anything: a rota that finally works, a route through town, a way of explaining fractions to a seven-year-old, a spreadsheet that answers a question nobody could answer before. The medium is incidental.

Ask what you make rather than whether you are creative. Then take the thing you are already good at building and push it one notch further this week. Make the version with the extra bit nobody asked for.
