Clean environments reduce decisions nobody realizes they are making.

REFLECTION
A cluttered environment asks you questions continuously. What is that, should it be dealt with, where does this go, is there space here. None of these register as decisions, and they consume attention anyway, which is why people feel tired in messy rooms without knowing why. Clearing the space removes the questions rather than answering them.
Clear one surface you use constantly and leave it clear for a week. Notice whether working there feels different. The effect is usually larger than the effort suggests.
Which room drains you a little every time you walk through it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
