Character is mostly made of events with no audience. Handing back a few dollars nobody would have missed does nothing for your reputation, which is exactly why it tells you something true: you were honest when honesty was not being scored. The unwitnessed moments are the ones that set your default.

Watch for one this week, and it will be small: the extra change, the item you were not charged for, the mistake in your favour. Put it right without mentioning it to anyone. The point is not being good in public but not needing the public.
