Organizing something once is less important than designing how it stays organized.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
One round of reorganizing has a short life. Within months the drawer, the folder, or the schedule is back where it started, because the effort went into the state rather than into the mechanism that maintains it. What actually matters is where things go by default, how often they get reset, and who is responsible. Design beats effort here.
After organizing something, spend a few minutes deciding how it will stay that way. A weekly reset, a fixed home, one rule you will hold. Without that, you have purchased a temporary condition at full price.
What did you tidy once that has already returned to chaos?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
