Cloudy ice has trapped air in it. Clear ice froze slowly. Patience makes things clearer.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Rushing traps things inside. Water frozen fast seals in whatever happened to be nearby and comes out cloudy, while the slow version pushes the air out as it goes. Thinking behaves similarly. A decision made at speed carries whatever mood and half-information was in the room at the time, and given a few days most of that settles out of it.

For anything you can delay without cost this week, delay it, and write down what you think now so you can compare. Reread the essay in the morning rather than sending it at midnight. Notice how much of what felt urgent was only air.
