You don’t notice how heavy your keyring is until you empty your pockets. Same with the stuff you’ve been carrying.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Weight becomes obvious only when you set it down. All day you carry things without registering them, and you assume the heaviness in your shoulders is just what being you feels like. Some of that load is real and necessary. A fair amount of it is old, and it stayed because nobody ever asked you to empty your pockets and look.

Take twenty minutes this week and actually write down what you are carrying. Classes, a job, a falling out, something you said in March that you keep replaying. Seeing the list is not the same as fixing it, and it is where fixing starts.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What have you been carrying without ever setting it down?
