Design does not get into metal gently. The pattern on a coin exists because something pressed hard enough to rearrange it, and nothing about that process is pleasant for the metal. Hard stretches work on people in a similar way, not because suffering is good for you, but because pressure is what makes a shape stick. You do not usually see the pattern while it is being made.

Think back to a stretch you would not want to repeat. Write down one thing you now do well because of it, and let that be the whole task this week.
