A possession can carry emotional value no marketplace could price correctly.

Markets price replacement, not meaning. A worn ring, a chipped mug, a letter in a box: their value comes from a person or a season they carry, and no valuation can see that. This is the one good reason to keep something no one else would understand keeping.

Give those things the respect of an actual place rather than a pile. Keep the few that genuinely hold something and be honest about the ones you keep out of guilt rather than love. Guilt is a poor reason for anything to occupy your home.
