The moon is about 239,000 miles away and still moves the ocean. Distance doesn’t cancel influence.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Influence is not canceled by distance. Something a very long way off still moves the entire ocean twice a day without touching it, and people operate on the same principle. A grandparent you rarely see, a friend who moved away, a coach from three years ago, somebody you had a falling out with. Their pull on how you think and what you reach for does not require proximity.

This cuts both ways, so use it. Send something to somebody you are no longer near this week, and consider who is still being pulled by you without your knowing.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Who still shapes your choices from far away?
