“Bad” became “good” in slang and nobody voted on it. Culture changes fast; your values don’t have to.

Slang turns over without a committee. A word can reverse its meaning in a few years because enough people used it a new way, and nobody announced the change or asked your permission. Plenty of other things move like that too: what is embarrassing, what is impressive, what everyone supposedly does now. None of that drift obliges you to move with it. Taste changes quickly and what you will not do can hold still.

Write down two things you are not willing to do, in your own words. Then notice this week how often the pressure to drop one of them is just a fashion.
