The river doesn’t care how old the canyon is. It just keeps working on today’s inch.

Scale is somebody else’s problem. A canyon took an unimaginable amount of time and the water running through it is not working on the canyon, it is working on today, on this inch, on whatever is in front of it right now. That is the only reason the big number ever got reached. Looking at the whole thing is useful once for direction and then becomes a way of being paralyzed.

Stop measuring against the finished version this week. Pick today’s inch, do that, and let the total take care of itself.
