Heavy backpacks get lighter when a friend carries one strap. Problems shared don’t halve, but they shift.

Shared weight does not divide neatly and it does move. A friend taking one strap of a heavy bag does not halve the load, and it changes the whole experience anyway, because you are no longer the only thing holding it up. That is roughly what telling somebody does. The problem stays about the same size, and your relationship to it shifts.
Tell one person about the thing you have been handling alone. Not for solutions. Just so somebody else has a hand on the strap while you walk this week.
Who could take one strap of what you are carrying?
