Ownership should increase agency, not merely storage requirements.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
The test for anything you own is whether it widens what you can do. A bicycle you ride adds range; a bicycle in a hallway adds an obstacle. When possessions grow only your storage problem, you have traded capability for volume without ever agreeing to the trade.
Ask of any purchase what it will let you do that you cannot do now, and be strict about whether that answer is real. If the honest answer is that it will mostly sit somewhere, you have saved yourself both the money and the square footage.
What have you bought that made you less free, not more?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
