It is easy to furnish the life you imagine rather than the one you live. The equipment for the hobby you mean to start, the formalwear for events you do not attend. Meanwhile the things your actual Tuesday depends on are worn out and unreplaced, because ordinary life is less exciting to shop for.

Look at what your week genuinely consists of and ask whether your possessions match it. Upgrading something you touch every day is almost always a better purchase than equipping a version of yourself who has not yet arrived.
