An interview can go well and still end in no because someone else had a year more experience. Keep stacking yours.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

A no is not always a verdict on how you did. Often you were good and somebody else was further along, which is a comparison you could not have won this time and can win later, since the only thing missing was time on the clock. That decision was about the field, not about your ceiling.

Ask for feedback after the next no, then go and add to the pile. Take the shift, the volunteer role, the small project nobody wants. A year from now you will be the one with the extra year, applying for the same thing.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Where are you one year short rather than one talent short?
