Good teams don’t panic with two minutes left. They practiced the last two minutes all year.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Calm under pressure is almost never a temperament. It is rehearsal, because teams that look composed at the end have been through that exact situation so many times that it is familiar rather than frightening, and familiarity is what keeps your hands working. Nobody becomes steady in the moment itself. They arrive already steady.

Rehearse your own last two minutes this week. Practise the part you always rush, under something like real conditions. Do the presentation out loud, take the free throws when you are tired, write one answer with a clock running.
