Lift the lid on simmering rice and you let the steam out. Some processes need you to trust them.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Checking can be a form of interfering. Certain things only work while they are left closed, and every inspection sets them back, so the anxious attention that feels responsible is actually part of the problem. Trust in that situation is not a nice attitude. It is a technical requirement.

Pick one thing this week that you keep opening up to check. The application you have sent, the plan you already made, the job somebody else is doing for you. Decide when you will next look at it, and leave it closed until then.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What process are you checking on too often to let work?
