Drama loses most of its fuel when nobody answers within the first hour.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Conflict needs participation to keep going, and the first hour is when the fuel gets added. Most of what escalates a situation happens in the rush of immediate replies, when everybody is reacting rather than thinking, and without those replies a lot of it simply dies out. Not answering is a real move, not the absence of one.

Sit out the first hour next time something flares up in a group chat. Do not reply, do not screenshot, do not take a side. Come back later and see how much of it still needs anything from you.
