Kneading dough is slow, boring, and the whole reason the bread holds together.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Kneading builds the structure that traps the gas, which is why skipping it gives you something flat no matter how good the ingredients were. The work is tedious precisely because it is repetitive, and repetitive is what develops the strength. Most of the dull parts of anything are load-bearing in the same way.

Identify the boring part of the thing you care about and stop trying to get around it. Drills, scales, revision cards, stretching, the ten minutes of tidying the kitchen. Do it with your attention on it rather than resenting it, because that changes how fast you get good. Boredom is not evidence that you are wasting time.
