On most coasts the tide comes in twice a day and never hurries. Being reliable beats being fast.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Dependability does its work through repetition rather than speed. Something that arrives every single time, at a pace other people can plan around, becomes a thing they build on, and no burst of effort imitates that. Nobody is impressed by it and everybody relies on it.

Choose one commitment this week and make it unremarkable: the same arrival time, a reply by the same evening, the same forty minutes of practice. Keep it smaller than what you think you can manage, so it survives a bad day. Let people learn that counting on you is safe.
