Some decisions get clearer after you sleep on them. Most don’t get better by being made at 2 a.m.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Late at night your judgement runs on worse equipment than it will in the morning. Problems look larger, options look fewer, and the urge to settle everything immediately is strongest exactly when you are least equipped to settle anything. Sleep does not solve the problem; it hands the problem to a better version of you.
Set a cutoff hour after which you do not decide anything that matters, and write the question down instead. Read it again in daylight before acting. If it still looks the same at nine in the morning, then it probably is what it looked like.
