Captains who stay calm when the ref blows a call keep one bad call from turning into two.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

The real damage from an unfair moment is usually whatever happens next. A bad decision costs you one thing, and the reaction to it, the argument, the retaliation, the lost concentration, costs several more while everybody is still upset. Whoever stays level through that gap keeps the first problem from multiplying.

Decide ahead of time what you will do the next time something unfair happens, because deciding in the moment goes badly. Turning around and walking back to your position is enough. Take the call up afterwards, through whoever is supposed to handle it.
