Learning to read a lease, a pay stub and a bill is freedom nobody throws you a party for.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Reading the documents that govern your money is a quiet kind of freedom, and nobody celebrates the day you learn how. A lease tells you what you have agreed to, a pay stub tells you whether you were paid correctly, and a bill tells you what you are actually being charged for. Most people skim all three and hope. The ones who read them get overcharged less often.
Take one of these and go through it line by line this week, with somebody if you want help. Your next pay stub is a good start. Work out what every deduction is and whether the hours are right.
Which grown-up document would you struggle to read properly?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
