Looking at a sky full of stars does something arguments cannot. It does not tell you that you are unimportant, it just makes the question feel less urgent. Whatever you were defending five minutes earlier does not seem worth the energy at that scale.

When your sense of yourself gets loud, either from pride or shame, go and look at something vast. Both directions of ego respond to it. You come back roughly the right size, which is a good state to make decisions in.
