Some fights end when one person simply stops showing up for them.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
A recurring argument needs two participants to stay alive. Many of them have nothing left to settle, since both positions got fixed long ago and all that remains is the ritual of running through it again. Declining to run it is not conceding. It removes the fuel, and some fights have no resolution available anyway, only a continuation.
Pick the one that comes round most often. Next time it gets offered, do not take it up: answer briefly, change the subject, let it drop. Three times in a row is usually enough to retire the whole routine.
