Your parents’ stress is real. That doesn’t automatically make it yours to fix.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Noticing that a parent is under pressure and taking on the job of fixing it are two different things, and children of worried adults often merge them very early. The stress is genuine and your care is right. But a bill, a job, or a marriage is not inside your reach, and carrying what you cannot move tends to cost you school, sleep, and your own age.
You can be kind without being responsible. Help with something real and sized to you, then let the rest stay theirs. If it sits heavily, tell one trusted adult outside the house, so you are not holding it alone.
