Keeping your real plans hidden can look like peace from outside, while inside it is a holding pattern: nothing is resolved, the disagreement is only suspended, and you are doing constant work to keep two versions apart. That is tiring, and it grows, because each concealment needs a few more behind it. A truce buys quiet without buying freedom.

You do not have to disclose everything, and some situations genuinely call for keeping things close. But take one hidden thing that is actually ordinary and let it be known plainly. Finding out it survives being said is worth a lot.
