A canyon is what persistence looks like after enough years.

A river and a great deal of time, and the rock is gone. There was no moment when the canyon was carved; there were only millions of unremarkable days that were individually indistinguishable from doing nothing at all. That is what persistence actually looks like from inside.

So do not judge a long effort by whether today felt significant. It will not. Judge it by whether you are still at it in a year, because that is the only variable that has ever determined this kind of result.
