The gift of patience can be more useful than immediate advice.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
When someone brings you a problem, the urge is to solve it immediately. Frequently what they need is to talk long enough to hear their own thinking, and advice arriving too early cuts that off. Staying quiet is harder than being useful and often more useful.
Try waiting until they ask. Let the silence run longer than is comfortable. Most people arrive somewhere on their own if given the room, and what they reach that way tends to actually get done.
Who needs you to wait rather than tell them what to do?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
