Other people’s words about you exist whether or not you go looking for them. What you actually decide is how much of your attention they get. Hunting for the post feels like gathering information, but it mostly hands somebody a few more hours inside your head. The thing sits there either way; your reaction is the part you own.

When you catch yourself opening an app to check what someone said, close it and go back to whatever you were doing before. Ask the friend who forwards you screenshots to stop.
