Art you make for yourself doesn’t need a caption.

Making something and presenting something are separate activities, and the second changes the first if you let it in too early. Once you are thinking about how to frame a drawing for other people, you start making decisions for them instead of for the work. Some things are allowed to exist only for you. Not everything has to become a post.

Make one thing this week that you show to nobody. Finish it properly. Notice whether the work feels different without an audience in your head.
