Good athletes study the tape of their wins too. Figure out why the good days worked.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Most people only investigate disasters. That leaves you with a long list of what to avoid and almost no idea what actually produces your good days, so the good ones stay a matter of luck and mood. Success has causes too, and they are usually boring and repeatable.

Next time something goes well, spend four minutes on it before you move on. What did you eat, how much had you slept, what did you do in the twenty minutes beforehand, what did you skip? Write those down in a note, and after a month you will have a short list of things that reliably work for you.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What actually went right the last time something went well?
